I love JPII. He changed my life. I cry every time I see a video of him speaking.
A few days ago, I knelt down to begin my morning prayer and opened my phone to see a photo message from a friend who had just arrived on a pilgrimage and was praying at JPII’s tomb in St. Peter’s Basilica.
He told me that JPII loves me and is praying for me and my ministry.
I cried.
My holy hour that morning reminded me of the mission the Lord has placed on my life: to share the Catholic faith through the Theology of the Body. Seven years ago, I prayed at his tomb on my honeymoon with my bride. I was overcome with gratitude. How blessed I am that Jesus chose me to promote this important message and exposed me to it so early.
Our Lady of Fatima said, “More souls go to Hell for sins of the flesh than any other.” As Jason Evert told me when I first reached out to ask him for support in getting started as a chastity speaker, “Simon, chastity ministry is an important ministry. We are literally reaching down Satan’s throat and rescuing souls from being lost!”
I have always remembered that.
This work is so important, and I should not be surprised when Satan attacks me for doing this work. And you should not be surprised when you are attacked for striving to live it, either!
I love this message, and I love seeing lives change when people hear it. Despite the very real spiritual battle going on all around us, I am confident that the Queen of Heaven will crush Satan’s head and her Immaculate Heart will triumph!
